Job Summary:
As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer at Wiston MC Limited, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our organization. In this role, you will develop and implement safety programs, conduct regular inspections, and provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors. Your primary goal will be to minimize accidents, injuries, and risks within the workplace and promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and protocols in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and take preventive measures
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, and provide recommendations for preventive actions to avoid reoccurrence
  • Provide safety training and educational programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with various departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and update safety records, reports, and documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with changing safety regulations and industry trends
  • Participate in safety committees and meetings to discuss and address safety concerns
  • Conduct emergency drills and develop emergency response plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties, such as regulatory agencies and safety organizations, to stay informed of new developments and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field
  • Proven experience working as an HSE Officer or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and preventive strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in conducting inspections and audits
  • Ability to provide effective training and educational programs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable
