Research and development chemist

Client profile:
Our client is an internationally renowned manufacturer of plastic packaging products.

Location: Ota, Ogun state

Principal Responsibilities:
Formulate recipes to match customer standards.
Develop new samples as per customers’ specs.
Report to QC/R&D Manager on new developments.
Ensure that all machines and equipment in the laboratory are kept clean and tidy.
Operate injection molding machine.
Work on blown film machine
Work on Twin roll mill
Collection of production samples from the production floor.
Carry out tests on all incoming raw materials.
Ensure that the calibration of the photo spectrometer is done regularly.
Ensure and maintain proper records and documentation of all R&D samples and records.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent in a relevant field.
Candidates must be smart, hardworking, and can speak English fluently.
Work experience in a Masterbatch, Ink or Paint company will be an added advantage.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good interpersonal skills.
